Buying Coca-Cola with Cryptocurreny now Possible in Australia and New Zealand!!

Centrapay, the digital assets integration has signed a deal with Coca-Cola Amtail to allow Australians and New Zealanders (Kiwis) to pay for items using their Sylo smart wallet

So Australians and Kiwis can now buy popular soft drinks, including Coca-Cola with cryptocurrencies across the Amtails vending machine.

The partnership between Centrapay and Coca-Cola Amtail will allow for Centra Pays world class technology which makes it easy for consumers, merchants and machines and leverage digital assets in the physical world. Centra Pay aims at bridging the gap between brands and individuals to increase revenue and help merchants operate efficiently.

How it works

Coca-Cola Amtail has over 2,000 vending machines across New Zealand and Australia, the Amtail supports 140 brands and manages over 270 million customers globally.

Customers will have to use their Sylo Smart Wallet on any of the  Coca-Cola vending machines with a QR code payment sticker, then with the aid of the device’s camera (through the smart wallet) scan the code and make payment automatically.

Jerome Faury, CEO of Centrapay stated that the integration complexity and poor user experience are factors that prevent people from adopting technology such as digital identity and assets. He said.

“We have solved both these issues. Centrapay is pioneering the way to enable this new internet of value and bring its benefits to both consumers and merchants “

“At Centrapay, we’re working to create a future where individuals are in control of their own data and digital identity. Brands can connect directly and ethically with people, empowering them to make the right purchasing decision, whilst also supporting their retail and other distribution partners”

COVID -19

The global pandemic is still in place and can be spread by touching items that have already been contaminated by carriers of the virus. With this integration, people only get to touch the vending machine once and this is only when you want to take the item you bought. This reduces the physical interaction with the vending machine to a minimum.

Faury added that reducing physical contact and addressing hygiene shows that they are aware of the global pandemic.

“And it comes with the added benefit of reducing physical contact and addressing the hygiene concerns we’ve all become acutely aware of due to COVID-19.”

Jerome added that They have eyes in other regions as well outside of Australia and New Zealand.

“Now we’ve shown how it can work in Australia and New Zealand, we’re looking to grow the business globally. We’ve established a presence in North America and will be targeting the US market next with some world-first innovations,” adds Jerome
