“Google searches for ‘buy crypto’ is now at the highest level since January 2018, when the crypto market peaked… This is definitely a sign of new investors who are curious on the cryptocurrency space, but we’re still far from the retail euphoria that was seen back in Jan ’18.”

The rise in volume of searches could be suggesting that some retail investors and non crypto savvy investors are looking into getting involved with the volatile crypto market.

Buy Crypto and Not Buy Bitcoin 

It is worth noting that the term “buy crypto” is different from “buy Bitcoin”. Since it is “buy crypto” that is gaining volume we might conclude that investors are learning not only about bitcoin but the crypto market at large. These searches could be their first step towards buying any of their favorite tokens.

When checking the “buy Bitcoin” trend in Google trend data, it shows that it hasn’t moved much for 12 months. 

“Bitcoin itself is not getting the same kind of traction, with the search interest for ‘buy bitcoin’ laying flat since the top in May when the halving took place.”

Whether or not the trend moves, anything good for the crypto market is good for Bitcoin exposure and anything good for Bitcoin is by extension good for other major cryptocurrencies in the space.

With the wider use of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency to make direct purchase or investments comes more usage and value attached to the crypto. Google Cloud is the fifth external enterprise network Validator Theta would be in partnership with, Theta is also in partnership with Binance, Blockchain ventures, and Gumi Crypto etc. Theta eventually aims at having 31 external enterprise Validators. In addition to this Theta still has Guardian nodes available to the general public, this guardian node acts as an extra layer of consensus with the mainnet, it does this by finalizing blocks and checking for bad-actors Validator nodes. 

Other Partnership in View

As noted, Theta aims for more partnership even up to 31 external enterprises. It also aims at working with different departments in Google, this includes the Google Artificial intelligence, machine-learning and big data initiatives. Theta being a video network, means they have eyes on a possible partnership with YouTube.

“YouTube is particularly interesting because they utilize mostly internally-developed technology for video delivery and streaming, which makes experimentation a lot easier without having to rely on external platforms like Akamai or AWS,” Liu said.

Well, since Google owns YouTube, this might help gain that partnership quicker. 

The feature is released on the Nighty version of Brave and only available to North America right now. The Nighty version of Brave functions as a testing and development sandbox for brave to implement new programs and products features, so this means that the newly-released Brave together is in a trial version and  Brave is expecting feedback from individuals that are able to text it right

Demand for Video Calls 

The global pandemic created a big demand for video calls, families who were far away from each other use this means to speak and see each other, business organisations use this to hold meetings and it serves many other needs. With this demand Zoom received a large number of users.

With the high usage of zoom, many have stated that Zoom is not private and has security challenges and as such individuals demand an end-to-end encryption video calling platform. Zoom plans to release a new end-to-end encryption video call service later this week as reported by Coin telegraph. Brave seems to have done that before them although in a trial version.

Whether this will be a major competitor with Zoom or other video call systems out there is not known yet but some people expect it to be at some point.
