Augur Completes Network Upgrade to V2 With Defi Features Integrated

Augur, a decentralized prediction market platform has deployed it’s V2 network upgrade and has integrated DeFi features on the platform.

This upgrade comes 5 years after the launch of the project back in 2015. The platform upgraded to v2 with the sole aim of addressing the vulnerabilities currently existing in the V1, the upgrade also helps introduce DeFi support for Dai Stable coins and other DeFi protocols currently existing.

Augur revealed it’s V2 contracts that were deployed on the Ethereum Mainnet and has also verified it on etherscan. The new network upgrade  will support Maker DAO’s (MKR), Dai stablecoin, Ox’s (ZRX) Mesh network, UniSwaps V2 Oracle network and the Interplanetary Fine System (IFS)

Tokens Migration Optional

As reported earlier by JRNY Crypto, REP token holders are required to manually migrate the REPV1 to REPV2 through the Augur client insider to participate in the protocols reporting. The announcement has however, noted that this would be optional and would not be an immediate requirement.

“there is no immediate requirement to migrate REP to the new REPv2. “The only time in which migration from REP to REPv2 would become a necessity is if an Augur v2 market entered into the forking process,” added Augur.
