The browser is built on chromium, same software used to power Google’s own browser Chrome and Microsoft’s Edge browsers. Chrome users can easily adapt to Brave and vice-versa if they want since they share the same code-base, this means that Chrome extensions can easily work on Brave browser as well.

Brave browser offers its users privacy, and rewards its users for viewing its own ads via their native token Basic Attention Token (BAT). It helps prevent pop-up ads unlike other browsers and also eliminates YouTube ads and the recently built in TOR would allow users to be more private and anonymous. Users who receive the Basic Attention Token have the opportunity or choice to tip their favorite content creators across the Brave ecosystem. Records show that 26 million Basic Attention Tokens currently worth $ 4,637,308 has been paid out to content creators since the launch of the platform.

Brave Rated As Top

Brave have continued to grow in both user-base and global recognition. It was rated as the top browser chrome and other play store even beating Google’s own browser chrome and other major competitors. The browser leverages its ability to tip users and provides an avenue where content creators can earn for producing content. The company has also urged authorities to take action against various tech grants that Brave believes abuse their power the determinant of users since it is fully responsible to both the details of the users and their welfare throughout their time on the browser.

Brave received a rating of 4.8 stars out of 5 from over 238,000 total reviews from its users on Play Store, this comes after Brave further worked on the efficiency of its Privacy by providing service access through the Darknet. This rating has given Brave an edge over other competitors such as Google Chrome, Firefox and many other popular browsers out there.

Brave browser has a growing number of users and will continue gaining massive users since it offers users incentives in crypto for using them, block ads that pop up in other browsers including YouTube video ads and many more. A report in June announced that Brave had over 15 million active monthly users.

Brave and The Darknet

Brave Browser this week announced that access to websites using TOR (The Onion Router) is now possible thereby advancing the firm’s mission in giving trackers a hard time tracking their users and also showing that they value the users and their privacy.

The implementation of TOR would allow users access the part of the internet known as The Darknet, a part believed to the home of illicit activities, illegal drug activities, murder for hire services and many more. TOR would also allow users who are under internet restrictions and no means of communicating with the outside world to do so anonymously.

Brave’s active users recently and the rating its gotten on google Play store reflects the fact that people do care about their privacy and will whatever platform offers them that.

Users of the Browser can start using the Nightly version of Brave to access this feature for now until its released for the general public. The official blog also noted that verified content creators can choose to store their rewards which are paid in BAT in the crypto exchange ( the Gemini Creator wallet), or in any other fiat or crypto asset supported on Gemini’s Exchange.

Brave has also partnered with Binance and Binance US and has recently partnered with Japanese Crypto exchange BitFlyer to build a Crypto wallet for it’s users. Brave native token, BAT is listed on each of those exchanges.

The Browser is led by Brendan Eich, a former Mozilla executive. Brave has over 5.3 million daily active users and had raised $35 million under 30 secs back in 2017 on their ICO. 

The aim of this partnership is to develop “a crypto asset wallet for Brave Browser users”. As at the time of writing, no other info regarding the wallet has been made public.

Japanese traders who use Brave Browser are not allowed to earn Basic Attention Tokens (BAT), which is a native token of the Brave Browser. They are not allowed to earn those because of regulatory laws, so currently they only earn Basic Attention Token Point (BAP) but still are not allowed to exchange for money. With the new wallet creation, it could provide a means for Japanese Brave users to earn BAT instead of BAP or at least exchange it between the two.

“At this point, we are using points to reward users but there are some limits. [Through the partnership] we think it may be possible to go beyond that”.

More details about the crypto wallet will be revealed to the public in an upcoming event in Tokyo on the 30th of July.

Brave Browser growing in Japan

Cointelegraph reported on another partnership Brave made with the BTS AKA The Bangtan Boys. They also partnered with Rush Gaming thereby allowing users to earn BAP for watching ads on the limited edition. Rush Gaming Is a Japanese esports  team that develops browsers exclusively for the citizens of Japan.

Joe Rogan’s podcasts are downloaded over 190 million times every month. This edition of Podcast itself has had over 1.9 million views already. The show is said to have signed a $100 million deal with Spotify.

The two personalities devoted quite a good amount of time on the podcast and used close to 30 minutes to discuss internet privacy. They spoke about major social media apps including Google inefficiency in the privacy aspect of their products, even going as far as tracking users when they are using the private options on the platform. They pointed out that using social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook is sure to be tracked.

Endorsement for Brave

Developed by Brendan Eich a Java script creator and Mozilla founder, Brave browser is a privacy-focused browser that allows users to tip their favorite crypto content creators with the native token called BAT. Brave users do not need to click their through ads as the browser does that for them automatically and also the browser does not track its users nor does it allow users to get tracked. They recently released an end-to-end encryption Video call service for beta test. After this podcast where Joe Rogan revealed he uses Brave browser, the word quickly spread in the crypto space and their token BAT is now up 8% and showing higher volume. The user base for Brave is growing constantly and getting huge endorsements more regularly now. It won’t be long until we see the price of BAT reflect on the massive growth the browser has had in the past 3 months.

The feature is released on the Nighty version of Brave and only available to North America right now.
